KATHERINE TOUAFEK, FOUNDING DIRECTOR SINCE 1996
A founding member of The School to Careers Partnership, Katherine’s hallmark is working with businesses and organizations bringing diverse groups together. Her past work includes marketing director of a national office suite company, president of a regional business association, and various other strategic marketing projects in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Katherine has served on the Board of Directors at the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce and also as Chairman of Board. She is on the board of the ABE/ESOL regional program. She works with a wide variety of professional business groups shaping and implementing workforce development initiatives. In 2007, Katherine was awarded an “Unsung Hero” award by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Woman and a citation from Governor Deval Patrick for her work with School to Careers. Katherine feels there is always something to learn while making a positive impact on the lives of young people to improve the economic workforce to maximize talents, resources and opportunities for both schools and businesses. A graduate of Boston College, she resides on College Hill in Providence, RI with her husband and three sons.

Mary joined the STC Partnership in 1997 after a teaching career in the Canton Public Schools. As Occupational Education Coordinator, recognizing that learning extends well beyond the classroom Mary helped develop a school/business partnership to complement classroom learning. At the STC Partnership Mary continues to enjoy using her expertise in working with high school students and businesses in bringing meaningful connections together. She is a graduate of Regis College.
Karen joined us in 2013. She has many years’ experience having worked in banking and a public agency in various positions. Mother of two young children, Karen enjoys contributing to the STC effectiveness while enjoying flexibility. A graduate of Westfield State, she is glad to be part of the STC team.
